Kerala Kanyakumari Tour – A Memorable Journey with Kesari

We were initially skeptical about booking our holiday, as we hadn’t had the best experiences with other tour operators in the past and were unsure about the destination. However, we finally decided on the Kerala Kanyakumari Tour packages by Kesari Tours—and we didn’t regret our decision for a single moment.

What drew us in was the incredible promise of the itinerary: combining the tranquil, lush backwaters of God’s Own Country with the mystical allure of Kanyakumari. Standing at India’s southernmost tip, where the land ends and the vast oceans meet, had always been a bucket-list dream. Witnessing the legendary sunrise over the Triveni Sangam—the sacred confluence of the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean—was a profound experience that text or photos simply cannot do justice.

This was by far the best vacation we have ever had. To say it was “excellent” would not fully capture how wonderful it truly was. We will always cherish this trip as a collection of our best travel moments and finest Kesari experiences.

Seamless Management by Dedicated Tour Leaders

Managing a large group in a state where the primary languages are the local tongue or English can be a massive task. However, our tour leaders, Swapnil and Sachchinand, made everything incredibly easy. They not only managed our daily sightseeing flawlessly but were also deeply knowledgeable, sharing great insights into the best things to see and do at every stop.

Even though we traveled during the peak holiday season, our entire itinerary was executed smoothly and without any hassles. From transportation to our luggage, everything was perfectly taken care of.

Luxury Stays and Fine Dining Across Kerala

On our Kerala Kanyakumari Tour, every accommodation was luxurious, offering its own unique atmosphere:

  • Kochi: We started with the Star Suites in Kochi, which was elegant, modern, and served fantastic food. Our lunch at the iconic Taj Malabar was absolutely fabulous.
  • Munnar: The Orchid Highlands at Munnar was an absolute treat. They hosted a lavish Gala dinner with a Christmas bash, complete with a special holiday cake, Christmas hats, and chocolates for all the tour members.
  • Thekkady: At Periyar, Swapnil introduced us to Aranya Niwas, a beautiful forest reserve resort. It was nestled deep within the greenery right near Periyar Lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our Periyar River safari and shopped for fresh, authentic spices at Kumily village.

To keep our energy up, we were offered refreshments every three hours during our road journeys, ranging from local snacks like chivda, wafers, chakli, and khakhra to handy packets of amla supari for the longer drives.

Unforgettable Sightseeing: From Munnar Hills to Kumarakom Backwaters

The sightseeing throughout this Kerala holiday with Kesari was spectacular. The Mattupetty Dam speed boat ride was superb, followed by a visit to the famous Echo Point, where we shouted our hearts out just to hear them echo back to us. Both of our tour leaders participated enthusiastically in every single activity right alongside the group.

Next on our itinerary was Lakesong Resort at Kumarakom, where we experienced the iconic Vembanad Lake backwater houseboat ride. The sheer scale of the lake, stretching all the way from Kumarakom to Kochi, was stunning.

While the long drive from Kumarakom to Kanyakumari had narrow roads and several diversions, our bus driver handled it like a one-man army. I usually suffer from motion sickness, but thanks to his smooth driving, only the winding hairpin turns of the Munnar Ghats affected me slightly.

Reaching the Sangam: Kanyakumari & Kovalam Beach

When we reached Kanyakumari, we learned that groups hadn’t been permitted to visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial for the previous five days due to weather or crowd restrictions. Remarkably, our tour leader Swapnil managed to secure permissions, and we soon found ourselves standing at the Rock Memorial right in the middle of the sea!

The Tri-Sangam—where the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Bay of Bengal meet—was breathtakingly beautiful. The Kanyakumari Temple was equally divine. Upon arriving at Hotel Sparsa, we were touched by their traditional welcome with beautiful shell garlands.

Our final stop was Hotel Samudra, which features private access to Kovalam Beach. After witnessing a magical sunrise at Kanyakumari, we captured a perfect sunset at Kovalam. The cherry on top was our spiritual visit to the historic Padmanabhaswamy Temple.

Since the final night of our tour coincided with New Year’s Eve, we celebrated the arrival of the New Year at Hotel Samudra with a special cake-cutting ceremony organized by Kesari. Whether we were traveling on the bus or playing group games, Swapnil and Sachin made every effort to keep us entertained and happy.
